Walk “IT” Out

When the Lord first gave me this title I heard the song lyrics “Walk it like I talk it” lol. First off I know these lyrics because I have little brothers and sisters that are constantly keeping me in the know (if they heard me say “in the know” they would look at me and say don't say that again). Back to what I was saying…

In this first part of WHO AM I we learned who we were in Christ. Most times we stop there. We can have other people say who we are in Christ, we can repeat back to ourselves who we are in Christ but if we don't walk in it we become robots, repeating what we hear hoping that it will have an effect.

I'm reminded of James 1:22-24 (MSG) “ Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.

Like always the Message Version of the Bible smacked me in the face with truth! You see we know who we are in Christ and if you don't know I pray that there is someone in your circle reminding you daily who you are until you know for yourself ( DM me if you need a reminder I got you @nika_lc (Instagram) Quinika Benton (Facebook) ). The point is what is the cost of not walking out what we are learning? The cost is looking in the mirror and seeing something so beautiful and the second you walk away forgetting all that He’s made you to be. The mirror to me is the Holy Spirit. He’s always there when we invite Him in to reflect who God has called us to be. When we forget to invite Him in we forget who God calls us and its leaves room for everything else to come in and get comfortable. I’m telling you we do not have time for that. I can say from personal experience. Letting everything else in this world tell you who you are only creates a copy of something and your an original. It will only leave you confused and far away from your purpose.

One of the many things that I love about God is that even though He calls us all the same wonderful things, He has placed a special, one of kind person inside all of us. I truly believe that the only way to unlock that treasure inside you is to walk in everything that He has called you. This means walking in all that you are 100% of the time. Now lets be clear I'm not saying that this is always easy. What I’m saying is that I can walk it out no matter what comes my way because I know who created me to be me. I’m my own type of pretty so even when I feel like I’m having a bad hair day and no one looks my way I know I'm beautiful. The list goes on and on.

I challenge all of you to go on this journey of seriously WALKING LIKE WE TALK. I don't want to just play the role I want to star in it!!! Jesus is our author right (Hebrews 12:2)? So why don't we sit back let Him continue writing the script of our life and have fun as we watch it unfold. Even the stars of all of our favorite TV shows don't know the ending, they wait to get the script. Its time to be good listeners, remember what He says about us, and walk in all that He’s made us to be in this show called LIFE.
