One Letter. Forever Changed. Everything.

January 19, 2018

Just a little over a year ago, you had shared that God was speaking to you with the word “ocean”. Seasons change, but that word remains the same. Jesus had a sea of followers and his group of disciples, but only called Peter to come out onto the water with Him. That was an intimate meeting between Peter and Jesus. God sees you running on the sand and getting tired. While the ocean and the beach may run in the same path, only on one side is where God is. And it’s the easier path. I can feel God asking you to be completely intimate with Holy Spirit. ‘Emerge’ yourself in Holy Spirit like you would in a water baptism. God is saying “come out into the water until your feet can’t touch the ground so I can lift you up into a beautiful dance with every wave.” Get so deep in Holy Spirit that in every wave, you move as one. Do not resist, be relentless.

This letter was given to me over a year ago and I happened to find it a couple of weeks ago. As I read it tears ran down my face.

“God how can a lettter from a year ago that was about a word you spoke to me (oceans) in 2017 come back and mean more to me now than ever!!?!”

The answer was simple “for such a time as this.”

This word is for you too.

What are you trying to do in your own strength? God is telling us all to come out upon the water and find complete rest in Him through all the waves. I don’t think waves mean only bad things either. I think that He’s telling us to trust Him in the good and bad. Don’t resist His complete rest. Instead walk towards it with open arms knowing that your father is right there to hold and keep you.

I love how in the letter she writes “be completely intimate with Holy Spirit.” The definition of completely means “totally”. Every day I strive to be completely dependent on Holy Spirit leading me and you know what? That takes trust and the more I do it the more my feet stop touching the ground and I become one with Him. I’m not perfect and I don’t always get it right but I’m maturing in my walk with Christ and I want all of us to be moving forward together. That’s why I had to share.

So stop resisting the freedom that’s right in front of you. Don’t run tirelessly on the sand,(not getting anywhere) run into the effortless waves of His love and find complete rest in it all.
